How to Make Chocolate chip cookies at Home

Chocolate chip cookies are a type of cookie that is made from a dough typically composed of butter, sugar, eggs, flour, baking powder or soda, and vanilla extract. The defining characteristic of chocolate chip cookies is the addition of small chunks or chips of chocolate, which are added to the dough before baking. The chocolate chips can be made from either milk chocolate or dark chocolate and can be added in different forms like chocolate chips, chunks or even bars. The dough is usually formed into small, round balls before being placed on a baking sheet and baked in an oven. Chocolate chip cookies are a popular treat and are often enjoyed with a glass of milk. They can be made in different variations like adding nuts, oatmeal, different types of chocolate, and different flavors like lemon, lavender etc.



Here is a classic recipe for making homemade chocolate chip cookies:

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

How to Prepared:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.In a separate large mixing bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Note:

you can use different types of chocolate like dark chocolate or white chocolate, or add nuts like pecans, walnuts or macadamia nuts. You also can try different variations like adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the dough for extra flavor.
