How to Make Chicken Pot Pie at Home Quickly

Chicken Pot Pie is a classic comfort food dish that is made with a flaky pastry crust filled with a savory mixture of cooked chicken, vegetables, and a creamy sauce. Here is a simple recipe that you can follow to make Chicken Pot Pie at home:



Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 3/4 cups chicken broth
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 cups cooked and diced chicken
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crusts

How to Prepared:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until smooth. Gradually add chicken broth and milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in chicken and vegetables.
  4. Roll one pie crust out to fit the bottom of a 9 inch pie dish. Pour filling into the crust, and roll the other pie crust out to fit the top of the pie. Place the top crust over the filling. Crimp the edges of the crust to seal, and cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until crust is golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Note:

You can use store-bought pie crust or make your own homemade crust. You can also add or subtract vegetables according to your preference.
