How to Make Apple Pie at Home Easily and Quickly

Ingredients:

  • 2 9-inch pie crusts (store-bought or homemade)
  • 8 cups thinly sliced peeled and cored apples (about 8 medium)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)

How to Prepared:

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.Roll out one pie crust and place it into a 9-inch pie dish.Pour the apple mixture into the crust-lined dish, spreading it out evenly. Dot the top with the butter pieces.Roll out the second pie crust and place it on top of the apples. Trim any excess dough and crimp the edges to seal the pie.Brush the pie with the beaten egg yolk and water mixture.Cut a few slits in the top of the pie to allow steam to escape.Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.

Serve warm or cold with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top.
