Crispy Thread Chicken at Home

Ingredients:

Red chili powder 1 tbsp. tea or to taste

Black pepper powder 1 tsp

Turmeric powder ½ tsp

Garam Masala Powder 1 tsp

Salt 2 tsp or to taste

coriander powder 1 teaspoon

chicken powder 1 tbsp

Cumin powder 1 teaspoon

Orange food coloring ¼ tsp.

Green chilli paste 2 tbsp

Ginger Garlic Paste 2 tbsp

Mustard paste 1 tbsp

egg 1

Chicken strips 750g

cornstarch 2 tablespoons

Manda Patti/Samosa sheets 8-10 or as needed

Cornstarch 2-3 tbsp

cooking oil for frying

Directions:

In a bowl, add red chili powder, black pepper powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, salt, coriander powder, chicken powder, cumin powder, orange food coloring, green chili paste, ginger garlic paste, mustard paste, egg and whisk well.

Add the chicken and mix well.

Add cornstarch and mix well, cover and marinate for 30-40 minutes.

Place the samosa sheets on a clean cutting board, fold over and cut into thin strips (like threads).

Spread evenly and sprinkle with cornstarch and brush well.

Thread the marinated chicken strips onto wooden skewers and wrap in samosa leaf threads, then press down to flatten the strips, carefully place in and let rest 10-15 minutes (makes 13-14).

Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 month.

Heat the cooking oil in a wok and fry the skewers over low heat until golden and crispy (10-12 minutes).

Fry in a hot air fryer preheated to 200°C.

Serve with dips!
