How to Make Chocolate Donuts at Home




Ingredients:

1 tablespoon yeast

Warm milk ¼ cup

All-purpose flour 5 tablespoons

Warm milk ¼ cup

Yeast ½ tablespoon

Salt ¼ teaspoon

1 tablespoon powdered sugar

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Egg yolks 1 and ½

2 tablespoons melted butter

1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon melted butter

Oil for frying

Chocolate coating:

Powdered sugar ¾ cup

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Milk 4 tablespoons

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons melted butter


Directions:


Put the yeast, warm milk and all-purpose flour in a bowl and mix well. rest with 30 minutes with plastic cover.

Put in a bowl, heat the milk, add the yeast and mix. 

Add the flour and yeast mixture, salt, sugar, vanilla essence, egg yolk and beat well.

Add the butter and gradually add the all-purpose flour, knead well until smooth, and make 8-10 medium-sized donuts.

Cover and place in the refrigerator for 1.5 hours or until the volume doubles. Knead the dough again and form a ball, divide into two equal parts. Roll out the dough . Cut with a donut cutter and let rest for 20 minutes. Heat the oil in a wok (keep the oil temperature at 190 ° C when frying) and fry the donuts until golden brown on both sides. 

Dip donuts in chocolate frosting and place on draining racks and sprinkle with colored sprinkles immediately after frosting.


Chocolate Coating:

Add the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, sugar, cocoa powder to a saucepan and stir until the sauce thickens.
