 How to Baked Macaroni with Southern Cheese at Home Quickly and Easily


Ingredients:

14 ounces (400g) macaroni
1 cup) 115g) cheddar cheese
3/4 cup (85 g) Gruyère cheese
3/4 cup (85g) mozzarella
4 tablespoons (30 g) flour
4 tablespoons (60 g) butter
4 cups (1 liter) of milk
1 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Indications:

Preheat the oven .
Mix all cheeses in a large bowl and save.
Heat plenty of salted water, cook the macaroni al dente (1-2 minutes less than indicated on the package).
While the pasta is cooking, prepare the sauce: in a large saucepan, melt the butter, add the flour and mix over medium heat. Cook for a few minutes, stirring constantly.  add the milk  until smooth. Cook for 5-6 minutes until they thicken a little.
 add 3/4 of the cheese . Season with salt and pepper and mix.  add more additives like bacon, herbs or spices.
Drain the pasta .
Place in a round pan, sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 of the cheese and cook until golden brown and bubbly for 20-25 minutes.

Suggest
 serve hot
 
 This is a pretty basic version of Mac n Cheese, but you can add toppings like bacon, herbs, and condiments.
